Brandon Whipple learned the value of hard work from building houses with his father, a Union carpenter. His father taught him that you can achieve anything if you have a vision, and work hard towards that vision. His dad encouraged Brandon to find a way to make a living using all his gifts, not just his hands. With this lesson, Brandon became the first person in his family to graduate college.
Brandon earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Wichita State University. His education focused on social services, community development and public policy. Brandon sees education as a pathway to a brighter future, a future where every Kansan has the opportunity to excel.
While at Wichita State University, Brandon met his wife Chelsea. Chelsea shares his passion and commitment to improve our community. She is a former missionary who served in the developing world and in the Katrina-ravished areas of New Orleans.
As a State Representative, Brandon will combine his passion for service and strong education to serve the South Side community. Brandon is committed to do everything possible to make Wichita a place of opportunity for all Kansans.
